I made this for Metrocon 2014.  Dante Basco was going to be there and I wanted to give this as a gift.  I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for Zuko, for awhile.  I had my heart set on a Zuko/Azula picture, but Azula wasn’t cooperating (what a surprise).  So I went with an homage to one of my favorite moments in Avatar, when Zuko used the lightning redirection maneuver that Uncle Iroh taught him to redirect his own father’s attack.  I always saw it as a testament to who Zuko’s real ‘father’ was, when it was his uncle who taught him to protect himself and his own father who tried to kill him.  One of the many reasons Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of my favorite series of all time.
